Race 10 was a good one. It was a little hot starting the day out but as it moved into the night it cooled off alot and was rather nice. We need to start by thanking everyone for coming out. You guys make this all worth while.

Our evening started out strong with David taking home the Dial-in Jackpot money, running 0.0104 off his dial.

As we have become accustomed to, our RBA Racing/H2O Leak Detection 2.90 Index class had the most entries with 35. The points leader would go out fairly early creating a opportunity for significant gains, considering the double points on the line. Brandon would meet Travis in the finals. Travis would take the holeshot, but Brandon would drive around him to take the finish line by 0.0032 and the class victory. That’s a finish margin of just over 2 inches. Needless to say this class’ competition level is off the charts. Jonathan’s points lead is cut to 5 over Mike and 7 over Brandon.

Our Open Bracket class would see 25 entries take first round. A familiar bunch of faces would navigate the winners and losers bracket. Ultimately it would come down to an all RBA Racing final, pitting father vs son once again. Brandon’s better reaction time and 3.5031 off his 3.50 dial would be too much for Rick this night, giving Brandon the double up. Rick’s points lead is cut to 9 over Brandon.

Super Stock is our fastest class, but also the hardest to break into. We’d see 5 entries take first round. David and Jimmie would find their way to the finals. David would take the holeshot, but Jimmie’s 2.2970 get would be enough to get him to the finish line first. There was only one small detail. Jimmie had tapped the outside retaining wall in the process. That gave David the win by DQ. Jimmie extends his points lead to 13 over JR.

The 2.50 Index is an outlier at the moment. No other class has been dominated by a single driver like this class. Robert really has it figured out. His experience with car setup shines here. The instant green starts remove the red light possibly, meaning a quicker reacting car and driver can have a significant advantage. Robert would meet Heath once again in the finals, but Heath was going to have to beat him four times. In their first race Robert would lock up the win with his usual quick reaction time and ran slightly closer to the 2.50 index. Robert extends his points lead to 4 over Jonathan.

We were a little short handed, missing our beloved computer operator. Hopefully Mrs Melissa will get to feeling better. But our team of volunteers came through with minimal hiccups. Big thanks to our race coordinator Mrs Mandie for sticking it out with one of our biggest crowds to date. We also need to give a shout out to JR and Heath for showing early to broom and blow the track giving us the best racing surface possible!

Congrats to the 850 for taking all the trophies back to Florida on this night! Special thanks to all of our sponsors for making some things possible that wouldn’t be otherwise! Show them some love: Johnson FORD INC , David’s Catfish House – Atmore , Magnolia & Co. Streaming note. Our stream from race 10 is up and available for viewing. We spend a fair amount of extra time and effort to bring these streams to you guys. Give us some feedback. Are they worth it?

We’re back in 2 weeks on Saturday August 24 for our last night race. We’ll see you at the Slab!
