What a great day of racing! Race 15 is in the books! The weather wasn’t perfect but we didn’t let that effect our program. Some heavy hitters were missing in action and that let some familiar and also some new faces step up.

We moved out of test-n-tune and into the Dial-in Jackpot with nine entries taking part. Wambo came out swinging running one over to set the tone. A couple runs later and we see Mike go dead on with an 83. This was looking to be good until the very last pass, where Jonathan would go dead on with an 80 to grab the jackpot at the last moment.

The H2O Leak Detection and RBA Racing 2.90 Index class would be our biggest entry list with 21. Numbers two and three in points weren’t on the grounds so that would provide a unique opportunity. Some familiar faces found themselves racing for our winner’s plaque. Rick and Robert are no strangers to the finals and they put on a show as usual. Both drivers would run one off, 2.9150 and 2.9160 respectively, but Roberts 0.0183 reaction time gave him the hole-shot win. Jonathan extended his points lead to 5.

The RBA Racing Open Bracket class had some absolute battles between the 14 entries. Rick fought through the winners side to meet Mike from the losers side. Mike would need to turn on two win lights against Rick to hold the winner’s plaque high. He’d get it done on the first lap with a 0.003 reaction time to take the holeshot victory. Rick would then turn it red in race two handing Mike the win. Congrats to Mike to his first win! Rick extended his 27 points, clinching the RBA Racing Open Bracket championship. Big congrats to Rick on a hard fought points championship!

Super Stock is getting competitive. All the regular contenders are in the mid to low 2.2x which means anyone can win. We started with 7 entries and worked down to a final round seeing Ken vs Johnny. Johnny had been putting down some blazing fast laps in 2.1s most of the day. After fixing his charging issue earlier in the day Ken had found his groove. They lined up and blasted down the Slab with Ken’s win light coming on. Johnny had laid down another great ET of 2.1907, but Ken’s quick reaction time was enough to get him there first with his 2.2329 for the win. Ken took both his entries into the finals and made the hard decision to split and quit with himself! Jimmie extended his points lead to 12. JR technically can still catch him but he’s gonna need a lot of help.

As usual we appreciate everyone’s patience and participation to make the race go smooth. Big thanks to our volunteer staff for everything they do!

Special thanks to all of our track sponsors for making some things possible that wouldn’t be otherwise! Show them some love: Johnson FORD INC , David’s Catfish House – Atmore , Magnolia & Co. Don’t miss our season finale on November 23rd. It’s double points and we are gonna crown all the class points champions! We’ll see you at the Slab!
