Race 6 of our 2024 Points Series was a hot one. The racing was great across the board. Between the heat and other events going on, we still has a great turnout.
The day started off with an exciting Dialin Jackpot that saw Robert Garrett run dead-on with a one and everyone thought it was over. But Matthew Hayles wouldn’t be denied. His last minute dead-on with a zero run would take the prize money.
Twenty-one (21) racers staged up for round one in the RBA Racing / H2O Leak Detection and Pool Repair 2.90 class. Rick Amendt found himself holding a trophy for the first time in a regular points race this year. Jonathan Thompson took the runner-up honors. Jonathan overtook Mike for the points lead to end with a single point lead.
Twenty (20) racers lined up for first round of the Open Bracket class. Matthew Hayles kept his hot streak alive winning out in the winners bracket, then defeating Brandon Amendt in the finals. Brandon gained a single point on Rick who leads by six (6) now.
The Super Stock class was a little light on participation with only six (6) entries for first round. The finals had some familiar faces with Robert Garrett taking the win over our points leader Jimmy Boyington. Jimmy extended his points lead by one (1) point.
The RBA Racing / H2O Leak Detection and Pool Repair 2.50 class is quickly becoming one of the most competitive classes we run. Ten (10) racers entered but the finals would see Robert Garrett get his second straight win over runner-up Caitlin Hayles.
Our volunteer staff were absolute troopers in the heat today and we are truly blessed to have them. Thanks a million Melissa Godwin and Mandie Thompson. We really couldn’t do what we do without y’all!
