The weather was just about perfect for our 2025 Points Season Race 2. We saw the return of some familiar faces who don’t race with us often and we were missing a few regulars. We know parents and kids have obligations so you may well not be able to make every single points race. That’s why this year we’re doing three “drop races”, meaning we won’t count everyone’s three worst points races in the final tally.
We’ve got to shout out our sponsors. These businesses are integral to our ability to keep growing and improving our program. Give them some love!

Following registration we moved right into our Dial-in Jackpot. Ten racers took a stab at the jackpot and there were a couple of notable runs with both Matt H and Johhny breaking out by seven and one thousandths respectively. On the good side of their dials we saw Robert and Caitlin swinging for the fence and running dead on the dial with a seven and three respectively, but stealing the show and taking home the money was Travis who ran dead on his dial with a one.
Next up was our 2.90 Index class. A new racer joined points bringing the points fund up to $1,250. Twenty two entries would battle it out for the largest pot of the day. Our points leader Rick started out strong drawing the top seed to get a bye run round two. Unfortunately for him Johnny would end the day for his points entry in round three. Rick would take his second entry all the way to the finals where he’d meet Travis who was on an absolute tear. Rick would turn it red by eleven thousandths to hand the win to Travis. This would be enough to create a tie at the top of the points between Rick and Travis, with David six points behind them.
Open Bracket is our other points class this year and the most popular. We got a couple more points entries to bring the fund total up to $1,300. We had nineteen entries to start first round. Our points leaders didn’t make it creating an opportunity for movement at the top of the standings. Braxton will use one of his drops and so will Pops. Pops was a little under the weather, so get well soon sir! Jonathan would take the winners side of the ladder beating Rick to send him to the losers side. Wambo’s #84 entry got knocked out of the winners side back in round three when Jonathan laid down an eleven pack, but he’d battle all the way back winning four rounds in a row on the losers side to have an opportunity for revenge against Jonathan in the finals. Wambo would need to win two in a row so it wasn’t gonna be easy. Wambo would run closer to the dial to take the first race but the second race would go the other direction with Jonathan posting a thirteen pack to snag the win, the plaque, and finish with the points lead. Braxton falls to second and there’s a tie at third between Caitlin and JR.
Super Stock might be making a come back. Six entries first round, turned into a final round between Bennie and Robert. Robert laid down a 2.1812 to secure the winner’s plaque. However the more entertaining Super Stock run came after the race when the jaw jacking between Johnny and David came to a head. Johnny would lay down a 2.1393 to David’s 2.2139 for a fly by win light. Word is the back and forth carried into the hour and half ride home and may still be going on this morning.
The forth class would be a 2.75 Index class. Seven entries would start first round, with the finals between Jonathan and Rick. Rick would get caught napping and hold up two fingers for the picture.
Big thanks to everyone who came out and spent their day with us. It really is a great environment. Our next race is April 12th where our progressive index gets a little quicker to 2.70.
We’ll see you at the Slab!
