Race 9 of our 2025 Points Series is complete. The regulars were back out in force and our usual extremely competitive racing was on display. This was our second to last double points race so there was a lot of opportunity to see a mix up at the top of the points.

The Pensacola Pool Services Dialin Jackpot had 9 entries. David took the early lead running 0.0070 off his dial. But he’d be overtaken by the ever deadly Travis who ran dead on with a one (0.0011) to wrap it up.

The H2O Leak Detection and Pool Repair & RBA Racing 2.90 Index class had 15 entries. The points leader Travis had two left at four cars, but both entries would go down leaving Johnny and David in the finals. Johnny would grab the win running dead on the dial with a six (0.0068). Travis extended his points lead and Rick moved up to second place.

The Open Bracket class sponsored by Emerald Coast Water Heaters & Emerald Coast Custom Rentals had 12 entries. Our points leader Caitlin made her way through the winners’ side to meet Jonathan who had made it through the losers’ side. Jonathan would have to beat Caitlin twice to take the plaque home. The first race was a close one, with a margin of victory of only eleven thousandths of a second (0.0116), but Jonathan took it on a holeshot. Caitlin would turn it red by only seven thousandths (-0.0075) to hand the win to Jonathan. Caitlin extended her points lead and Jonathan remains in second place.

We had some Super Stocks on the grounds for a grudge race and they put on a show. David and Rick would battle it out in a best two out of three showdown. In the first race Rick jumped out to a holeshot lead and ran a quicker 2.2597 to David’s 2.2692 for the win. Race two was an awesome race. Rick had his axe ready and killed the tree with a 0.0009 reaction to jump out to quick lead, but David was charging hard ran a quicker 2.2023 et. BUT Rick’s 2.2889 barely got him across the finish line first for the win.

Finally, our bonus class was 2.55. We had 12 entries. Rick had both of his entries left at three cars with only Jeremy to beat. Rick had a bye to the finals with his second entry so he’d need to beat Jeremy to take home all the money and the plaque, or Jeremy would need to beat both of Rick’s entries. Jeremy got the holeshot and got to the finish line first first, but broke out by seven ten-thousandths of a second (0.0007) to give the win and runner up honors to Rick.

We need to thank the sponsors! These companies and organizations really do help us put these race on. Please support them directly whenever you can! Johnson FORD INC , David’s Catfish House – Atmore , K&N Sugar Shop Sweets & Treats , and Jason Pilger Chevrolet Atmore, Alabama

Our next Race is August 23rd. Thanks for joining us and we’ll see you next time at the Slab!
