The 2024 Points Series Race 5 from the Slab was a HOT one. Both in temperature and in racing action. We saw the return of some old friends who hadn’t had a chance to make it out to race with us in a while.

We started the day with a breakout filled Dialin Jackpot that saw Brandon Amendt coming out on top.

The H2O Leak Detection & RBA Racing 2.90 class was the biggest as we have become accustomed to. Twenty-seven (27) entries lined up for first round. The finals would see a funny staging battle between the top two in points, with Jonathan Thompson coming out on top of Michael Miller to close the points lead to two (2).

The RBA Racing Open Bracket class is always a fun one. Double elimination means there’s plenty of racing and anything can happen. Rick Amendt would navigate the winner’s bracket and meet Mallory Miller in the finals. Mallory made it count when she needed to, beating Rick twice to take home the trophy. Rick extended his points lead to seven (7).

Super Stock was exciting as usual. Our current points leader Jimmie Boyington found his way to the finals along with current number two (2) in points JR Godwin. Jimmie would show why the fastest car doesn’t always win by defeating JR with a slower 2.21 ET to JR’s 2.17 on a holeshot. JR closed up Jimmie Boyington‘s points lead to just a single point.

The RBA Racing & H2O Leak Detection 2.50 class made it’s debut with ten (10) entries pulling chips for first round. Robert Garrett and JR Godwin would be the final two standing after five rounds of double elimination action. Robert would get the better of this one with a faster instant green reaction time and also run closer to the 2.50 dial, to take home the trophy and the points lead.
